1) ..so..yes....i got super sick at the begining of the galdern tour and developed a touch o' laryngitis.. yahhh..it was kinda a nightmare...but luckily, we only had to cancel two shows because of it..and since our triuMphanous return it's been pret-ty dern swella fella...Switchfoot (and their fans) have been freegin' amazing, and the opening band Sleeping At Last is incredible (no joke bloke)...our new guitar goblin adam is slingin' sweeps like satriani was still alive (uh..?)..let's just he say he does more tapping than bojangles (who actually is dead), which ain't enough ...basically..it's been real sweet so far...honestly, we've had some of our best shows to date in some cities (it's true)...i'm positively pumped (like arnold..but..without the accent)...
2) it'll be great to play boston, nyc and dc in a couple days...(that's this WED.SEP.15TH, THU.SEP.16TH & FRI.SEP.17TH btw)...we don't get the chance to do that much under 21 stuff, so, invite yer kid sister...she..like..totally..loves switchfoot ..trust me.. ..there have been several sell-out shows (no, i don't mean the bands dweebo), so, i would def'nly consider getting tickets in advance

..the boston HatchsHell show was the killerest..we were lucky to have freakishly nice weather, and the newly christened Get Up Choir was at it's most audacious..40 pEopLe shouting along!!..performing where the boston-pops performs..it was like a rock tabernacle!...we are currently making plans to organize choirs around the country, and are hoping to begin an aLL cHoir tour on the west coast immediately following the Switchfoot run...we're looking for volunteers to join us, and amateur singers aRe welcome..so if you're interested in performing please contact sally_tetzlaff@hotmail.com ..we've got some new choir pictures on the site now from the Boston Music Awards and the Hatchshell..and the video from the cd release is functioning too..if ya wanna see what it's all about...

..howdydoodiddy folks...just a short note this time (after last weeks runOn epOch right?) to spotlight the PROVIDENCE show TOMORROW and to announce that the "All Things Considered" interview should also air tomorrow (it was s'posed to be Friday, so for those of you i already told, it's now THURSDAY)..somehow i was hypnotized by the dulcet tones of the interviewers talk-radio-voice..and i found myself effortlessly discussing subjects that i would normally never touch with a 10 foot metaphor..so..expect lOts of dorkery (actually, it's probably better if you don't listen)...it usually airs between 4 and 6:30pm..but i think times vary..and from what i understand the music segments are usually at towards the end of the program?

....i would also like to mention...as of yesterday Japan's Puffy AmiYumi's new album "Nice" is now available here in the US (although in a different version than the overseas release)...it features my crappy guitar playing on the tune "Sayonara" (don't ask..i'm confused too)..and it's pure pop pleasure..produced and written (and performed some) by the amazing Andy Sturmer of Jellyfish.. ..from what i hear "could be worse" is gettin' more and more radio airplay over there..and the press is startin' to kick in...the label seems happy with the way things are going..but..i could be lying about all that and you'd never know (hA!)...we're still tryin' to figure out how to get the import over here, so..we'll letcha know when we do..

..well..the CD release went off without a hitch...ok..maybe there was a hitch..or glitch?..or..three? (which hitch was the bitch glitch Mitch?)..but..i really think the celebrities of the SHCCC showed us all what rock'n'roll choral performing can be...ok..that sounds silly..but..i really mean it..it honestly was an enOrmous thrill working with them..i hope we get the chance to do it again...for those of you who didn't get to experience it, there're photos up on the site now (and some kilbourne moments too)..we should have audio/video up wHikid soon...and once more: my mOst sincere thAnx to everyone who helped make the choir thing happen (and to everyone who went along with the craziness)..yooOu.......so, the OneLineDrawing dates have been great so far...he (they) are absolutely fantastic..jonah's got an R2D2 that kiLLs the eBand..and the rock'n'roll has more heart than the necco factory...i wish we could keep goin'..but..alas..i'm off to japan (poor me)...nO dOy i can't wait!!!...i think i'm turning japanese already (du-nu-nu nU-Nu-NUH!) ..for those (four) of you who must have the full catalog, the import will have the japanese version of "sayonara"..and.."just a song" which was co-written and produced with matt mahaffey of Self...but hey..it's just a song (groan)..so don't get excited (you weren't anyway were you?)..damn.....please request "get up" on BCN and FNX...our continued radio airplay (and future) depends on it....thanx for supporting crappy music..
BLEU-CD RELEASE EXtRAVAGANZiNO (June 26th)
..whEw...what a wiLd freakin' few days thAt was...the Avalon debut of the choir went sweLL..and i must say the other bands were way cool..someday i'll be pinching myself that i was on that bill...we had to be at the airport at 4:30am that night to catch our flight to LA (aCk), no sleep..straight to the Kilbourne show from there...mAn..it was nErvE raCkiNg..i broke a string on the 1st pass and you only get oNe mOre chAnce (don't fock up bleu!..*poop*)..and no, i didn't get to meet Lionel or Petra (dAmn)..they actually tape the band 1st before anyone else even gets there (true)..but i did shake Kilbourne's hand as i was stuffing my face with catering (naturally he made some sarcastic comment) and they gave each of us 2 full bottles of rum (?)..so..uh..the daquiries are on me guys!...of course we had to leave there and go straight to the Henry Fonda Theatre..it was a pretty cool show actually..very heCtiC, but lots of 'tude..and plenty of great music..Calexico and Phantom Planet (one of my favorite bands) were swEEt, and yes, the Hanson boys were very nice..and their fans were quite accomo dating considering all the roCk being thrown in their faces..reconnected with some Boston folks too (The Gigolo Aunts anyone?..yUp)..and i even met Pete Thomas from The Attractions! (he sat in with P.P.!)...ok..we watched kilbourne that night to see how many goofy faces we made (17 at last count)..5 hours sleep..travel all day..5 hours sleep..and gather the choir to head down to the NYC show!..lemme tell ya..it was easily one of the most exhilerating moments of my life..i wanna take this chance to prOfUsely thank eVeryOne who helped make this choir thing happen..having 30 people back you up at a place like the Mercury Lounge is just indescribable..and rehearsing all those people down in the grimey, narrow, stinky li'l basement they have there was a thrill in and of itself..seriously, i almost wet myself with sheer jOy...i genuinely cAn't wAit to do it one more time at the Paradise this saturday...yes, it is our official cd release celebration so there'll be plenty of goofy shiz goin' on...we should have some pictures (and video?) up on the site soon..sorry for the delay on some of the web crap (hold yer damn horses, we're bustin' our hump over here)

..howdydoody ev'rybuddy...
...well...despite the fact that we got rear-ended on 95 and lost our trailer and some equipment (including my precious guitar...*sniff*) the providence show was swell.. actually, gettin' up there and lettin' go totally made up for all that b.s...ok..maybe not aLL the b.s..but it really was nice to play a full set and try out some new stuff..and it's always awesome to see Chauncey rock the casbah..and to raise a li'l money for charity (bigUps to brian colton for puttin' that thing together for Make A Wish)..and the catering was sweet too (drool*)....we have to cram ourselves aNd all the friggin' gear in the van, but we're still pretty giddy about THiS THURSDAY's SHOW in NYC ..we're gonna do another full set, so it should be delicious (delicious?)... and, i'm very excited (not in thAt way) to announce a few tour-dates and some upcoming Boston shows including an incredible bill of local bands at the FNX NEW MUSiC POLL and our CD RELEASE EXTRAVAGANZA ...i'm starting some solo eBAND DATES WiTH OURS in a few days..i've played with them several times before and they're without a doubt one of the best live bands i've ever seen..and their current record is one of my favorite new things...plus those guys always laugh at my jokes..and that goes a loNg wAy in my book...then we've got JULY DATES with this fella who calls himself ONE LiNE DRAWiNG ..friggin' great stuff..very interesting.. soO...i hope to see yous guys out there soon....

..howdyhey folks...it's been a while since i last wrote...i don't know about you, but i was glued to the tv for a while freakin' out about the war...i sincerely hope everybody's loved-one's made it through ok (not that it's over)...aCk...i'm not sure quite what to say about this....confusing times these are.....
...so...i'm playin' an eBand show this SATURDAY the 26th at BB KiNG'S in NEWYORKCiTY with JACKOPiERCE ..DOORS are at 6pm...I'm on at 8:15pm...i'm not familiar with this club, but i've been told that it would be quite wise to PURCHASE tickets iN ADVANCE ..call NYC TICKETMASTER @ 212-307-7171 (why am i yeLLiNg?).. anyway, should be fun (fun-ny?)...i've got some brand spelunkin' new solo material to try out including a sample-saturated version of our new SiNGLE "GET UP" which is one of two new tracks being included on the AWARE/COLUMBiA RELEASE of "redhead" which is slated to hit stores (with a slight make-over) on JUNE 17th .. we're mighty happy with this new version (artwork, track listing, cd-extras) and are pretty frickin' excited to finally get this thingamabLob out to the public..we're in the process of planning a couple of neAto-mosquito events to coincide with our national record-release...but in the meantime, the band is playing prOvidenCe and neWyoRkciTy and we're workin' on a buncha summer dates as well as some li'l doo-dads we're gonna offer up for the snarfing....much thanx again to all y'all mo'fos, Wheat, Alice, and aLL the toAd tHe wEt sprOcket fans who supported us on this last tour....we really [..really (fo'rea')] can't wait to get back out there and play for yous guys again...shan't be long...and for those of you who didn't notice, there are some pix from our last excursion up on the site....and since i last wrote i've visited an alpaca show and a potbellied-pig farm, so expect to see lots of exotic livestock up in the near future ..

..well...i suppose touring always has it's ups and downs...this time we got in a little fender-bender (eek), lost a cylinder (which put us in a short-bus rental for a week), there was the bug that ripped through the band (hack..sniffle), and of course we can't forget the tire slashing yesterday (aaawmAn!)...but honestly, i wouldn't wanna miss any of that if i had to miss the sing-along in columbus, or the crowd frenzy in salt lake, or the honor of playing the historic fillmore..or the party in st. louis, the freak-out in grand rapids, the schmancy dinner in minneapolis, the electricity of
one of our rockenest nyc shows in recent history, the wet-willy warm homecoming in boston, or all the excruciatingly generous friends, family and fans we got to see along the way...despite all the travails i'll only be able to remember this as a fantaastic tour...Toad has been great to us (Toad's fans have been great to us) and it's awesome to be with the Wheat fellas ev'ry day..it's both inspiring and comforting to be around such an incredible boston band (go see 'em)......i must add an extra special thank you here to our rep Ali (the greast rep in the history of repdom) who drove our crappy rental from Grand Rapids to Minneapolis and drove our van back to us so we didn't have to miss another show..he even left us a buncha wacky souveniers of his trip in the van...there are no words to describe our gratitude...he has a guest list-spot for life......
