...all-in-all, it really has been a wonderful year...i finally got to release my long-lost record "a watched pot"..i played some very memorable shows all over the country (and australia!)...and i worked on a mess-load of really cool records with a bunch of old and new friends....honestly, what more could i ask for (a subscription to Popular Science if your reading this Santa..)..

..(back to the biNg bAng) we've got lots of great things planned for '09, including the release of my next record (officially titled "FOUR" now), the LoudLion project (my homage to Def Leppard for those new to the mailers)...i'll be doing some more touring (i'm planning a li'l jaunt with Scott Simons as early as March), of course lots more writing, producing and mixing on other sukaz records..and some surprises too (like everybody jumping out from behind the couch "surprise!", not like -fido left a surprise by the front door- "suprise")...


....as i try to mention every year: don't forget to be generous this holiday season...even in this economy almost all of us can afford to give sOmething to our favorite charities...it's the right thing to do, it feels good, it's a lot more meaningful than that potpourri scented candle you got mom, and it just might get you transfered to the "nice" list (thereby insuring that subscription to Popular Science you've been wanting)....


..i have so many people i want to thank for making this year everything that it was....of course, all the people who have supported my music and stuck by me through thick and thin..it means the world, it really does...i'll do my derndest to keep the tunes flowin' in aught '10....to all the f-n incredible musicians who i got to collaborate with..whew...i think it's safe to say i've worked with more amazing people and made more music than i ever have before (i worked in some capacity on well over 100 songs this year and nearly 1/2 of them are listenable!)....i made a buncha new pals aaNd got to reconnect with some old ones.....seriously...i consider myself a lucky ducky (almost as lucky as the actual ducky)....tooo Fontana Distribution, Artist Garage, Bicycle Music, Think Press, everyone who sponsored a house concert with me this year (!), Berklee, every venue who booked me, every person in every city who helped me book a show, gave airport rides, helped me sell merch, put up flyers (you know who you aRe!), all the bloggers, press, and radio peeps who gave props for "a watched pot"...and I hope I don't leave anyone out...so...

...thank you, thAnk yOu, tHaNK YoU!!


..lasTly...i dO have a show coming up at the Hotel Cafe on January 6th with Mike Viola...and as you know he's pretty much my favorite music-guy this side of '79, so, i'm psyched....i'm sure there'll be lots of collabs and other miscellaneous madness....by the way, thanx to The Hotel Cafe for being so cool to me this year..that place kinda rules the school...

......in other news, i've started co-writing and producing a record for a band called TV/TV...i already did an EP with them that came out this summer called "Not Enough Red," (shot the cover pic tOo!..heee) and we'll be expanding on that with another 6 or so songs for the full-length...they just got off a successful Warped Tour and got signed to Mom'n'Pop records by Michael "Goldie" Goldstone, the A&R behind Perl Jam, RATM, Regina Spektor, Tegan and Sara, etc...we've already started writing and it's going great...we'll be recording at Ducky's in October (yAy duCk!)...i'll keep ya posted on our progress..
...also, for those interested in my other various songwriting goings-on, i just found out i have the 2nd track on Selena Gomez's new record "Kiss and Tell" (produced by John Fields of course)...it's a song John and I had kickin' around for a while called "I Won't Apologize" that we finished with Selena (she's very cool)...fun one...i think i mentioned before that we also had a track (that i also co-produced) on the Wizards Of Waverly place soundtrack that's really fun (very 80s) called "Disappear" (1st track)...

...a watched pot is OUT!...todAy....like..rigHt NoW!!....i know...aAaaAAaa....honestly, i didn't know if this day would ever come...but here it is...6 years since i released my last record and 4 years since i finished this one...it's out!....after all this time, i still really believe in this material....and..i'm just unbelievably glad to finally be able to share it with you.....if you like what you hear....tell your friends!...i hope as many people as might enjoy this record have the opportunity to hear it....(see below for places to buy A Watched Pot)

...and to everyone who's stuck by me all the years and waited patiently for me to get something out.....a million thanxxx....

...so..i think tonight's show at hotel cafe is gonna be pretty neat....i rehearsed with Roger Joseph Manning Jr., Mike Viola, and the Rooney rhythm section for the last couple days and it's shaping up pretty cool...we've named this line-up Mogul (apparently they were the "big" band around town when Roger was a kid), and our Jellyfish covers sounds pretty swell i think, as well as our Viola covers, and our The Major Labels covers (we decided that we're simply a cover band of each other's/our-ownmaterial..heEe).....anyway...it's an honor to play with these guys..they are truly my heros.....it should be a fun night....

....oh...and one other little announcement:
...for the Boston show next week, I'M GETTIN' THE BAND BACK TOGETHER!...just for a few songs..but...wheee...Bill Guerra, Max Toste, Dustin Hengst, and Peter Moore, who all played in the original "Redhead" recording/touring line-up will be with me, as well as Blake Canaris, and Mike Woods, who played in the PRE-Headroom line-up!!...a lot of these guys have gone on to do some really cool things (most notably Dustin and Mike, who were in Damone), and some of us haven't played together in yeArs! (i won't say how many..eek)...i'm just reaLLy psyched to be rockin' out with all my old mates again....we'll definitely be whipping out a couple oldies....anyway...i don't know if anyone else will be excited about this..but (obviously) i aM!....thanx to all those guys for taking time to make this happen!!

A Watched Pot tour - Special Guests in Los Angeles! (June 9th, 2009)
..weLp..i'm just back from down undah!
(even they call it that, so, i don't feel like a loser yank..well..not 'cause of that)...what an unbelievable blast i had...
....i did a li'l blog about 'er (will be posted in the next few days)

..sOo i'm finally gearin' up to start promoting "A Watched Pot" (pronounced Whhached Paht) - which is oFFiciaLLy coming out on July 14th on Artist Garage/Fontana (4 days before my b-dAy!..wheee)..

...it all kicks off with a residency at the Hotel Cafe here in LA starting at the end of this month...and i've got some killer-diller campadres playing with me including:

and ROGER JOSEPH MANNING JR. (former Jellyfish)
..1st three bands will be playing their own sets and we'll all be doing a smidge of stuff together..
